Having been fortunate to building products in an organisation with the resources and scale of Tesco, I took the (perhaps slightly crazy) step in late 2023 to go full time on my own startup - Fundeey. Built entirely from scratch, I have needed to design, code, market, and iterate on Fundeey to find market fit, all with limited resources and budget. Such experiences have taught me so much about how to run a small business, how to manage an always on marketplace, how to set up effective market campaigns and how to deal with the inevitable ups, downs, joy and chaos of going it alone. These experiences have made me so much stronger and I feel lucky to have been afforded the opportunity to experienced them.
My achievements in this field would not have been possible without these incredible people.
Jonathan was instrumental in encouraging me to go full time on Fundeey in 2023. He helped me weigh up the pros and cons of doing so, the challenges I might face and the opportunities it might present. I am incredibly grateful for all the support he provided during this period.
The brains behind Fundeey, Joel is responsible for the financial and operational sides of the business. Without Joel, I'd still be trying to figure out how to file a company tax return!
To put it simply, I would not have been afforded the opportunity to launch Fundeey without all of Caitlin's support. She has been there through every high and low and while I'm sure she enjoys me being home more, I think she is very much looking forward to me getting a 'real' job (as she puts it) so we can afford to go travelling again!
